St. Patrick Music Teacher

Position Description 
Title:                                              Music Teacher
Reports to:                                      Principal
Hours:                                            Part-time, 15 hours/week*
Schedule:                                        TBD, 2 days a week

 *With some additional hours when preparing for performances

Responsibilities:

1. Music Teacher:
   *Responsible for teaching music classes 
               PreK-K:  30 minute class periods
               1-8:  45 minute class periods
   *Teach Curriculum of the Diocese of Nashville over the course of the year
   *Work with classroom teachers to integrate curriculum as much as possible
   *Maintain classroom discipline appropriate for a music class
   *Communicate any discipline problems to the homeroom teacher (and principal if needed)
   *Turn in lesson plans to principal each week
   *Keep materials organized and clean
   *Coordinate school Christmas Pageant, Talent Show, and Grandparents Day
   
   
2. Other duties may be added by the principal

Requirements of the Position

1. Strong Classroom Management Skills
2. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
3. Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences
4. Degree in Music Education or willingness to pursue this.
5. Proficiency in piano or similar instrument

PREFERRED:

1. Active Catholic
2. Some teaching experience
