St. Patrick Physical Education Teacher

Position Description 
Title:                                              Physical Education Teacher
Reports to:                                      Principal
Hours:                                            Part-time, 9 hours/week*
Schedule:                                        TBD

Responsibilities:

1. Physical Education Teacher:
   ​*Responsible for teaching PE classes (PreK4, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th)
               PreK-K:  30 minute class periods
               1-8:  45 minute class periods
   *Teach Curriculum of the Diocese of Nashville over the course of the year
   *Work with classroom teachers to integrate curriculum as much as possible
   *Maintain classroom discipline appropriate for an PE class
   *Communicate any discipline problems to parents, the homeroom teacher, and principal if needed
   *Turn in lesson plans to principal each week
   *Keep gym organized and clean
   *Keep art supplies organized
   *Request additional supplies within PE budget
   *Assisting Athletic Director
   
2. Other duties may be added by the principal

Requirements of the Position

1. Degree or Background in teaching Physical Education classes
2. Strong Classroom Management Skills
3. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
4. Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences

PREFERRED:

1. Active Catholic
2. Some teaching experience
