St. Patrick Spanish

Saint Patrick School in McEwen, Tennessee, serving 160 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, seeks an experienced, innovative, and passionate elementary grade teacher who is willing to work hard to bring learning to life and collaborate with a highly qualified professional learning community in a supportive school environment.

Position Description 
Title:                                                 Spanish
Reports to:                                      Principal
Hours:                                             Part Time, 12 Hours
Schedule:                                       Mondays & Fridays 1pm-3pm
                                                         Tuesdays & Thursdays 11pm-3pm

 *If more hours are desired, the candidate can talk with the principal about additional hours as a music or CGS teacher if the candidate has the necessary qualifications.

Responsibilities:

1. Spanish Teacher:
   ​*Responsible for teaching art classes (K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7/8th)
               PreK-K:  30 minute class periods
               1-8:  45 minute class periods
   *Teach Curriculum of the Diocese of Nashville over the course of the year
   *Work with classroom teachers to integrate curriculum as much as possible
   *Maintain classroom discipline appropriate for an Spanishclass
   *Address and communicate any discipline problems to the homeroom teacher (and principal if needed)
   *Turn in lesson plans to principal each week
   *Keep supplies organized
   *Request additional supplies within budget
   
   
   
2. Other duties may be added by the principal

Requirements of the Position

1. Fluent in Spanish
2. Strong Classroom Management Skills
3. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
4. Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences

PREFERRED:

1. Active Catholic
2. Some teaching experience
3. Degree in Spanish or Education
