Title: Advancement Assistant
Hours: Either Part-Time or Full-Time
Schedule: On site Monday-Wednesday; work from home Thursday-Friday. Occasional evening or weekend time.
Salary: Based on experience and expertise.
Job Purpose: The Advancement Assistant serves as a key member of the school’s leadership team who assists the administration in areas of marketing, development, admissions, and communications.

Qualifications
- Belief in the value of Catholic education and the mission of St. Patrick School
- Demonstrates an understanding of the art and practice of Development, particularly in a Catholic school
- Bachelor’s degree or work experience in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management or related field
- Excellent communication skills
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Effective small group and large group presentation skills
- Design and layout experience; printing management also required
- Proficiency with entire Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with content management websites
- Organized, accurate record-keeping skills
- Knowledge of online marketing opportunities, including social media strategies
The responsibilities listed below are representative responsibilities intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by faculty members assigned to this position.
1. Development Advisory
- Meets with the School Advisory’s Development Committee a minimum of two times a year to seek advice on development strategies and to ensure integrity of development program.
- Reports to and provides updates to Principal on a weekly (or other agreed to regular) basis.
- Develops Irish magazine (writing, designing/layout, managing printing); annual distribution to all stakeholders.
- Develops Annual Report (writing, designing/layout, managing printing); annual distribution to all stakeholders.
- Develops marketing publications (billboards, brochures, advertisements)
- Develops strategy, add content, and maintain school’s website and Facebook page. Emphasis is on school-wide news, events, and activities – as well as any admission/marketing-specific content.
- Provides assistance to other staff members or faculty as updating respective pages.
- Creates short promotional videos (training available if necessary) for website or Facebook page.
- Records in donor database all gifts to Endowment Fund, Tuition Assistance Fund, Annual Fund, Capital Improvement Fund, and any additional gifts outside of these major funds.
- Administers acknowledgement letters for all donations and all in-kind donations.
- Maintains accurate and complete records for all donations.
- Assists families in the admissions and enrollment process. This includes helping them with the online process.
- Organizing the School's annual Open House.
- Scheduling and facilitating shadow days for prospective students.
- Scheduling and giving tours to prospective families.
- Develops, implements, and maintains strategy to reconnect alumni with school.
- Gathers news on alumni and includes in communications as space and time allow.
- Invites alumni to visit school and encourages ongoing connection via SPS website and Facebook.
- Participates actively in faculty and staff meetings as needed.
- Accepts membership on faculty and staff committees, particularly those needing marketing or communications assistance.

Physical Demands
- At times, may need to work long hours on feet.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer station.
- Ability to operate keyboard in a safe and proficient manner.
- Walk flights of stairs sometimes carrying supplies.
- Sustain a high level of energy.
- Lift and move using proper techniques up to 40 pounds.
