St. Patrick PreK Classroom Aide
Position Description
Title: Classroom Aide
Reports to: Principal and Teacher
Hours: Part-time, 25-30 hours/week
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hourly Rate: $14-$16 based on experience
Requirements
- Active, Dynamic Catholic
- Some coursework in education or childcare
- Knowledge of Spanish

Requirements
- 21 years of age or older
- Maintain CPR and 1st Aid training
- FBI Fingerprint Background Check
- Provide documentation of physical every 3 years
- Meet state requirements for training as provided by the PreK Administrator
- Background in either childcare or education
- Active, Dynamic Catholic
- Some coursework in education or childcare
- Knowledge of Spanish
Responsibilities:
- Work with teachers to provide instructional support for students
- Small group/individual instruction
- Help the teacher supervise the children in the classroom, playground, and cafeteria.
- Prepare materials for lessons
- Other tasks as assigned by teacher
- Pursue ongoing professional development
- Complete requirements of Tennessee for a PreK aide(fingerprints, First Aid/CPR, training hours, physical updated every 3 years, understand requirements of the Pre-K, etc.)
- Substitute when needed
Other duties may be added by the principal
- Communicates clearly and effectively in verbal and written form
- Uses a pleasant, relationship-building approach with people: students, parents, and educators
- Listens, understands, and responds to needs of others and has strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to present confidently
