Title: Learning Specialist, Library Teacher

Responsibilities:
- Work with teachers to provide instructional support for students
- Teach Library Classes for grades K-4.
- Small group/individual instruction for students in grades K-8 (both identification, remediation and advanced curriculum for students needing additional challenge)
- Work with Title I students, logging hours
- Oversees paperwork and collection of Data for Title I.
- Administer oral tests or supervise students while taking tests with an accommodation
- Arrange and attend meetings for Humphreys County Assessment Results for students in grades K-8
- Develop Student Support Plans, provide intervention, and document progress for students receiving modifications and/or accommodations.
- Attend Diocesan in-service days for Learning Specialists
- Supervise after school high school tutors for tutoring sessions for Title I students
- Other Assignments given by principal
Requirements of the Position
- Holds a Bachelors in Education or Special Education OR is a Speech Pathologist. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in intervention services within a school setting.
- Is enthusiastic and committed to the success of the program.
- Is not currently under contract to another school.
- Communicates clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
- Uses a pleasant, relationship-building approach with people: students, parents, and educators.
- Listens, understands, and responds to needs of others and has strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to present confidently.
