Hours: 9:00-3:15 Monday-Friday
Duration: October-December
Salary: Based on Experience. Starts at $18/hour

Additional Opportunity of a 6th Grade Math is also available, adjusting arrival time to 8:15 or earlier if desirable.

- Degree in Education
- Experience as a science and social studies teacher
- Strong Classroom Management Skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences
- Active Catholic
- Current Teaching License

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Science/Social Studies teacher to ensure continuity
- Plan daily lessons according to any guidance provided by the Science/Social Studies teacher
- Maintain classroom discipline
- Supervise students to ensure physical, emotional, and social safety
- Work with middle school teachers
- Keep classroom room organized and clean
- Grade student work and keep a record of grades
- Communicate with students' parents through weekly newsletter and folder system, initiate and respond to parent communication concerning student concerns, and keep principal informed of student concerns.
- Uphold all school policies including COVID protocols
- Responsible for conducting an organized and professional classroom.
- Implements curriculum and instruction in a manner consistent with St. Patrick’s Mission Statement, including understanding, modeling and fostering independent thinking skills, creative problem solving and abstract reasoning.
- Shows empathy and understanding of students.
- Develops with parents and students a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and objectivity; including open communication.
- Assesses student performance frequently and objectively.
- Facilitates resolution of problems that might arise with students and parents.
- Holds parent/student/teacher conferences (if needed) in a manner consistent with St. Patrick’s Faculty Handbook.
- Develops and places into operation appropriate rules and consequences.
- Obtains permission before purchasing any materials needed for courses.
- Follows Faculty Handbook policies and Diocese of Nashville Human Resource policies.
